About the network

What is Awin?

Awin (originally "Affiliate Window") was founded in the United Kingdom in 2000 and is now headquartered in Berlin. The network has been part of the Axel Springer group since 2013 and operates in 15+ markets. Awin also runs the U.S. network ShareASale as a subsidiary and serves both classic performance advertisers and – via the self-serve tier "Awin Access" – smaller shops and individual entrepreneurs.

Strengths & typical use cases

Strengths & typical use cases

Awin is a classic performance network with a wide publisher landscape – from large cashback and couponing portals through loyalty platforms to content and influencer publishers.

Large European publisher network including couponing, cashback and loyalty partners
Self-serve entry point via Awin Access for smaller shops with reduced setup overhead
Built-in validation and coupon-restriction tools to manage voucher publishers
Program APIs for reporting, data export and custom integrations
International reach via multiple country accounts under one umbrella
Tracking & technology

Tracking & technology

By default, Awin uses the "Awin Mastertag", a JavaScript container that bundles conversion and click tracking. This is complemented by server-to-server tracking, mobile postbacks (for app conversions via MMP) and cookieless options. Concrete validation rules, cookie windows and integration options should be aligned directly with your Awin account manager and the current Awin documentation.

Commission & coupon setup

Commission & coupon setup at Awin

Awin supports percentage-based and fixed commissions, tiered models, category-based rates and override structures. Coupons can be tied to specific publishers or publisher groups to keep voucher strategies clean.

External costs

Network fees, override margins and publisher commissions are billed directly via the network and the publishers – they are not part of the Mioscoupon setup service.

  • Commission models: percentage, fixed, tiered or category-based
  • Coupon restrictions: target voucher or cashback publishers explicitly
  • Approval workflows for sales validation and reversals
  • Reporting via dashboard, scheduled emails or the Awin API

Combine with Mioscoupon

Combining Awin & Mioscoupon

Awin and Mioscoupon complement each other well: through Awin you run performance-based affiliate marketing with publisher commission – through Mioscoupon you simultaneously place self-service coupons in the portal network at fixed cost and without any extra sales commission. If you are setting up Awin from scratch, Mioscoupon can optionally help with the affiliate setup – conditions with Awin itself stay separate.
